En Garde, a cookery store where you can find almost everything you need for cooking, baking, pots and pans, special utensils, Laguiole knifes, pans from Demeyere, you name it they have it.
Every fortnight they have special demonstrations. For example, pasta making, cooking with Demeyere pans, using a blender etc etc.
They also sell the Benriner Mandolin: an indispensible attribute in every kitchen.
Another basic item every cook should have is a digital cooking thermometer. En Garde sells one for almost 30 Euro great for preparing any large cuts of meat or fish, you set it , put it into the meat before it goes into the oven and the alarm goes off when the meat is ready.

In the same area of the Frederik Hendriklaan where Cook&Co is also located you can find Gusto. This shop mainly sells design tableware, a completely different segment compared to Cook&Co. For us they compliment each other. They sell large dishes, crockery, special items for wine lovers such as decanters, tea pots, various vases, candlesticks, cutlerly designed by Georg Jensen and Carol Boyes. They have a dinner service from (a.o.) Arzberg (also seconds). Good quality linen tablecloths and napkins.

The Reinkenstraat is really one of the nicest streets in The Hague, La Mesa is another reason to visit this street. This recently opened shop specializes in products for cooking and dining. La Mesa was already a webshop and now they have opened their own shop. The owner Monique Meuldijk could already welcome many curious customers from her webshop.
La Mesa is Spanish for table and she supplies everything you could imagine for or around the table. Crockery, cutlerly, glasses, kitchen utentsils and she also has a corner with cookery books and a table where you can browse.
You can fill a bottle with olive oil or balsamic vinegar. They also have various workshops: making cupcakes, painting your own tableware etc etc, also for children.

Every week there are demonstrations, e.g. making ice cream or how to use your Japanese knifes.
It is also an ideal shop for finding gifts. They sell all the good brands: Viking ranges, le Creuset and Demeyer pans, Laguiole knifes, the Big Green Egg (BBQ) are just some of things you can find there.
This is what we cook with at home: a Viking range and a Smeg gas cooker, two of the best.
